Hazara community stands in respect of Kabul suicide bombing

Dozens from the Hazara community in Launceston have gathered at the Town Hall to mourn devastating attacks in Kabul just over one week ago.
The attacks claimed the lives of more than 80 Hazara people and over 350 were injured, following a peaceful protest consisting largely of students over lack of electricity in the area.
Reports indicate Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing through the group’s Amaq News Agency.
The blast reportedly occurred near the Afghan Parliament building.
The Launceston City Council paid its respects to the local Hazara community by illuminating the Town Hall in Afghan colours of red, black and green over the weekend.
Launceston resident Habibollah Rasouli expressed his condolences by reading out a statement written by the Hazara community.
“The horrific killing of Hazara people on the day shocked our souls. They say that it was the single deadliest attack in the history of Afghanistan,” he said
